The Low Road

Stay Curious because you never know what might save you . . . or kill you.

The Low Road is a chilling short horror film about an American family who, while hiking in the Scottish Highlands, encounters the Bean Nighe—a ghostly figure from Celtic folklore who foretells death.

At the center is Luna, a curious young girl drawn to the supernatural, and her skeptical brother Oscar, who mocks what he doesn't understand. When Luna realizes the Bean Nighe is washing Oscar’s bloodied clothes, she must act quickly to save him before fate runs its course.

Told through rich visuals and symbolism with minimal dialogue, The Low Road explores family tension, myth, and the power of intuition in the face of the unknown.

The Low Road

Filmed guerrilla-style during a real family hiking trip on the winding trails of the Scottish Highlands. With no crew and only the gear we could carry, I roped my unsuspecting family into bringing this eerie short film to life. Every misty shot and windswept moment was captured on the go, turning our vacation into a living set. What started as a hike became a haunting story told through the lens of folklore, family, and a bit of filmmaking persistence.

Bloopers

This reel reflects a family that doesn’t take itself too seriously. That comfortable camaraderie—that joyful “we’ll try it again” vibe—is infectious and reminds viewers: filmmaking is as much about the fun as it is about the final cut.
